Since there is no official cure for POTS, the biggest thing for someone who has been diagnosed with POTS is finding the best way to manage symptoms. With the help of my doctors, my mother, and some creators on the internet, I have found some really amazing products that help me manage my symptoms on a daily basis. If you have any useful products I could share be sure to submit them and they will be included in an upcoming post!
One thing that I use daily and has been recommended by many of my doctors is the brand Vitassium. They make a variety of different electrolyte products that are meant to help increase hydration and salt intake, which can alleviate symptoms like lightheadedness and fatigue by increasing blood volume. Some of their products include fast chewable tablets, capsules, extra strength capsules, and drink mix packets. On their website they say that their products are “Specifically formulated to support people living with chronic illness, Vitassium provides sodium and potassium to help manage symptoms of certain types of dysautonomia, including Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Vasovagal Syncope, and Orthostatic Hypotension (OH), as well as other chronic conditions.” Their support is truly shown through out their brand as they have a club for those who use Vitassium products to treat disabilities, where they give discounts on every order. They also have a page on their website dedicated to what dysautonomia is and spreading awareness, and give back to so many organizations that support disabled peoples. Their products help me manage my symptoms through out the day and it feels so nice to be using a brand that specifically supports and raises awareness for my disability and others like it so I could not recommend their products more. https://aletenutrition.com/pages/vitassium
Another product that I use almost as often, mostly for headaches and migraines, are BeCool patches. While they were originally designed to be a tool to reduce fevers, having ice or a cold patch on your head can significantly help relieve the pain from headaches and migraines to bring them down to a more tolerable pain level. BeCool patches to me are a better alternative to ice because they won’t melt or drip on you, no matter how long you have them on, and they last for up to eight hours at a time. My one complaint with the original version is that they are a bit long and I have a small head so they don’t fit me as well, but they have a kids version that is smaller, the perfect size for my forehead, and they often come with fun designs while the original version is plain. https://bekoool.com/
A similar product to BeCool patches that I like to use when I need a little more than the patch are ice packs that go over your head and eyes. One brand that I use is TheraICE, but that are many other similar products from other companies. These are especially useful for the days when the migraines get so bad that I get super sensitive to lights and sounds. The ice pack cover both your ears and eyes and goes all around your head, providing relief to anywhere a migraine could be centralized. https://theraice.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw68K4BhAuEiwAylp3khP4A4OuoR_aN4qcA8U7TyLwDAiUxBr5C68TPmnZ8HwkoNUstH5o9hoCTF8QAvD_BwE
For self care plans, it is important to go off your energy levels of the day. On the day that I think I have my highest energy levels, I make sure to do all of the self care actions that I enjoy most like an everything shower, dying my hair, tidying the house, or going to a fun event. On the days that I have very low energy, my self care looks more like laying in bed watching a good movie, crocheting, coloring, or playing phone games. My favorite phone game to play when I am trying to relax is Candy Crush which sometimes makes me feel like a grandma but brings me so much joy and satisfaction. Anything that brings you joy and helps you center yourself is self care even if it isn’t something you would immediately classify as self care. My most favorite act of self care is just hanging out with my cats. I have three cats, Toastafer Oven and Eggland being mine and Zero being my boyfriends cat, and cuddling and playing with them brings me more joy than anything. I am always looking for some more good shows and movies to watch or phone games to play so if you have any recommendations please contact me!

Thank you Kat for bringing awareness to dysautonomia and helpful hints you have provided others to help them in their journey. We ❤️ you have found success with Vitassium products. The brand was made especially for this community and we support many of the nonprofit organizations you mentioned. Keep up the good work!
